Conflict Minerals Statement & Sourcing Policy

Responsible Supply Chain Electronics Manufacturing at Aegis Power Systems

Ethical & Responsible Supply Chain Commitment

Aegis Power Systems, Inc. ("Aegis") is dedicated to ethical engineering, corporate social responsibility, and full compliance with international standards governing conflict-free mineral sourcing across our entire power electronics supply chain.

Regulatory Scope & Legal Framework

Under Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, as well as the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs), global manufacturers are required to ensure that minerals utilized in electronic components do not directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries.

As an AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of high-reliability military and aerospace power supplies, Aegis maintains rigorous supplier qualification standards. We require all tier-1 component suppliers and raw material vendors to establish robust due diligence programs aligned with the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) protocols.

Covered Minerals (3TG)

Our responsible sourcing policy explicitly covers four primary minerals and their derivatives, commonly referred to as 3TG:

Sn

Tin

Essential for lead-free solder pastes, component plating, and circuit interconnects.

Ta

Tantalum

Critical for high-density electrolytic capacitors in aerospace power modules.

W

Tungsten

Utilized in high-temperature electrical contacts and specialized heat sinks.

Au

Gold

Required for corrosion-resistant connector pins, wire bonding, and high-rel contacts.

Supplier Requirements & CMRT Verification

Aegis actively surveys its supply chain using the industry-standard Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) published by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). All authorized distributors and component manufacturers serving Aegis must provide documented evidence of their supply chain transparency.

Conflict-Free Smelter Audit Verification

Suppliers must ensure 3TG minerals originate exclusively from smelters and refiners validated by independent third-party audits such as the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP).

Annual CMRT Certification Renewal

Vendors are required to update and submit annual CMRT declarations to verify continuous compliance across active military-grade and commercial component lines.

Traceability & Counterfeit Mitigation

In accordance with our AS9100D quality management system, full material traceability is maintained to eliminate unauthorized or non-compliant raw materials from defense-critical hardware.

Quality System Integration & Transparency

Our conflict minerals compliance protocol is fully integrated into our AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 quality management procedures. By enforcing strict purchasing control policies, Aegis protects defense prime contractors, aerospace OEMs, and government procurement offices from supply chain liabilities while supporting global humanitarian objectives.
